Financial and Project Management

With over 25 years senior management experience in financial functions for large organisations I have a wealth of experience in the financial controls needed to run successful businesses. From the design, implementation and running of financial systems through to the creation of shared services functions including accounts, payroll, credit, purchasing, facilities, IT and HR.

With significant merger and acquisition experience, change management is a key skill for me and one that is complemented by my professional coaching skills.

Process Review

Review the many administrative and financial processes that keep the wheels of the business turning i.e. the  sales process, from enquiry to invoice through to credit control and cash collection(no sale until the cash is collected), purchasing, stock control, financial systems procedures i.e. petty cash, journal control to name but a few.

Consider the number of processes in your organisation and the people involved.

Have these processes and systems been reviewed recently?

Are they fit for purpose?

If the answer is no to either of these then now is the time to get that review done and capture the savings.

Management Information Systems (MIS)

The key to effective and efficient organisations is management information that is understandable, timely, relevant and critically, accurate. Without this management is similar to a car driver wearing a blindfold, it is an accident waiting to happen.

If you recognise that your MIS is not as effective as you would like or you are still waiting for that one sheet executive summary then now is the time to make the change.

Change

Change is a constant factor in all our lives whether personally or within our organisations and we all recognise that we need to be able to manage the change in order to retain control. It is important in any change environment that you have someone like me who can pull the pieces together to get an orderly and effective completion.

Strategy

When was the last time you gave a real hard look at the strategy of the business and amended your plans, staffing and cost structures accordingly? If it has not happened this year then now is the time to do it, be prepared for the upturn so your organisation can take full advantage when it happens.
